House Hopeful Brown Unveil ‘New Michigan Now’
Campaign to enact comprehensive reforms, create jobs now for workers

ARMINGTON HILLS – State House candidate Lisa Brown (D-West Bloomfield) today launched the “New Michigan Now” campaign, a sweeping plan that aims to create good-paying jobs that cannot be outsourced, reform Michigan government, strengthen education and expand the role of renewable energy in Michigan.

“I’m here before you today because I believe in Michigan and I believe in our workers,” Brown said. “I believe that we can build a New Michigan Now by focusing on the job that needs to get done. As your State Representative, I will work to ensure that the American Dream is alive and thriving for our hard-working middle class. I will fight to build a New Michigan Now – a Michigan we can all be proud of.”
Announced across the state today, the “New Michigan Now” campaign encompasses a six-point plan to move Michigan forward by:

Creating good-paying jobs and protecting Michigan workers.

Reforming state government, cutting government spending and cutting taxes for homeowners.

Strengthening education to create the new workforce for the 21st century.

Building our energy independence and creating jobs.

Protecting Michigan’s land, air, water and quality of life.

Strengthening health care and protecting Michigan residents.

Brown is making her second run at the State House seat in the 39th District after narrowly losing by less than 200 votes to a first-term incumbent in 2006. A Realtor with Max Broock Realtors and mother of three, Brown has deep roots in the community, and knows how important it is to turn our state around to keep our youngest and brightest workers here in Michigan. She is a member of Adat Shalom and has done extensive volunteer work in the community. A strong proponent of the potentially life-saving benefits of stem-cell research, Brown will focus on bringing more cutting-edge jobs in fast-growing fields such as life sciences and renewable energy to Oakland County. or.”
