FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lisa Brown Earns Endorsement from Prominent Environmental Groups WEST BLOOMFIELD – State House candidate Lisa Brown (D-West Bloomfield) has received the endorsement and support of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, and Clean Water Action in her bid to represent the 39th House District, which covers West Bloomfield, Commerce Township and Wolverine Lake. “I am proud to receive the endorsements of these vital Michigan environmental groups,” Brown said. “Michigan is home to the Great Lakes and other precious natural resources that must be protected. As a State Representative, I will work to protect our communities and help make Michigan a better place to live, work and raise a family.” Brown, who is making her second run at the State House seat in the 39th district after losing by less than 200 votes in 2006, was born and raised in Oakland County. She is a member of Adat Shalom and has done extensive volunteer work in the community. As the mother of three sons, Brown knows how important it is to turn our state around to keep our youngest and brightest workers here in Michigan. A strong proponent of the potentially life-saving benefits of stem-cell research, she will focus on bringing more cutting-edge jobs in fast-growing fields such as life sciences and renewable energy to Oakland County. In an endorsement letter to Lisa Brown, Lisa Wozniak, Executive Director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters stated: “The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is happy to play a role in helping you take office and looks forward to the opportunity to work together in Lansing on critical policy issues that affect out air, land and water. Our state’s economy is dependent on a clean and healthy environment. The Michigan League of Conservation Voters thanks you for your commitment to keeping Michigan pure.” |
